Library without barriers – this slogan defines all activities aimed at creatingproviding students and employees with disabilities with conditions for free use of the Library, its resources and services.
ARCHITECTURAL ACCESSIBILITY
The main entrance to the Library building from Przybyszewskiego Street allows for free passage of a wheelchair (the doors open automatically).
Typhloplanes (information about the layout of rooms on individual floors) can be found at:
- ground floor behind the first automatic entrance door, on the left side,
- first and second floors, after entering the first floor via the central staircase, on the right side on the wall.
From the ground floor, lifts provide access to the Library for people with mobility difficulties. They stop on every floor and are equipped with a voice announcement system and Braille buttons.
The central staircase stairs have been equipped with handrails and markings for people with visual impairments.
The entrance doors to the Reading Rooms have no thresholds and allow for the free passage of a wheelchair.
There are toilets for people with disabilities on each floor.

WORKSTATION ADAPTED FOR LOW VISION PEOPLE
The Main Reading Room offers a workstation equipped with a TOPAZ XL HD enlarger, supporting the use of printed collections, and a computer workstation with a magnifying program and MAGic keyboard, enabling the use of electronic resources.
ELECTRONIC MAGNIFYING GLASS
In the Main Reading Room you can borrow a portable electronic magnifier RUBY XL HD. The magnifier can be used throughout the Library.
Detailed rules for using facilities for people with disabilities are specified in the Regulations for workstations adapted for visually impaired students (also available in the Main Reading Room).
