Online Catalog - Basic Information
The electronic catalogue allows you to find collections that arrived at the Library after 1996. Information on the availability of earlier publications (which are not included in the computer catalogue) can be checked in the traditional card catalogue.
All journal titles available in the Main Library are listed in the electronic catalogue.
Since 1991, doctoral and habilitation theses of the Poznań University of Medical Sciences have been entered into a computer catalog. Dissertations from before 1991 can be found in the card catalog – in the Dissertations section.
Online catalog - location and status of the item
In the Library catalogue you can obtain detailed information on the location of a copy, title and its availability: the possibility of borrowing/reserving or using it on site.

Main Reading Room Collection – refers to books available for free access in the Main Reading Room (XNUMXnd floor)
Circulation – means books available for free access in the Circualtion Desk (XNUMXst floor),
controlled depository – means books in the controlled depository, orders should be placed:
- for books not loaned out (status "For on-site use") on the reverses in the General Reading Room (2nd floor),
- for books borrowed (status “On the shelf”) via the computer catalogue.
Magazines Collection – refers to magazines that can be used in the Magazines Reading Room.
Departmental Collections – refers to collections held in libraries located within Departments. For information on accessing these collections, please contact the staff of these units directly.
Card catalogs
Card catalogs are located on the first floor of the Library.
The card catalog of books registers items purchased before the end of 1996 and is not updated. It should be used when the publisher you are looking for is not listed in the computer catalog and was published before 1996.
Since 1996, current receipts have been processed only in a computer catalogue.
The card catalog of dissertations registers doctoral and habilitation theses completed at the University until 1990 and is not updated. Since 1991, theses have been registered by the database of Doctoral and Habilitation Dissertations of the Medical University of Poznań and entered into the computer catalog.
Information on dissertations is retrospectively updated for the years 1950-1990.
